Konrad has a statue erected

Hi all!

Along with the Spawn we saw earlier, I received a custom kitbash statue of Konrad Curze in the mail!

Like the Spawn, it's created by "D Power" in New Zealand, and depicts the final moment of a Primarch being assassinated on command of Big E (being the Emperor of Mankind) himself.

Background

The story behind the moment is philosophical.

After Chaos made the Emperors lab go boom, Konrad landed on a planet called Nostramo, where the sun was totally blocked out and people lived in near-total darkness.

Society was in total disarray, the leading nobility only caring about their own wealth, gangs running amok with impunity.

Konrad took it upon himself to restore order, from the ground up. Having killed his first victim, and noticing that actually no one cared, he started putting them on display to make sure others would "get the message".

The scale of his actions became bigger and bigger, at some point coming up to said nobility and gave them a choice. Join his leadership and make sure there are no crimes, or perish like the rest. I think it was a 50-50 result.

Konrad, then already being nicknamed Night Haunter, became ruler/king of the world and order was absolute, as even minor infringements were punishable by death. So who would face down a demi-god? Right! no one in their sane mind.

After being found by Dad, Konrad was tutored by Fulgrim about combat doctrine and put some of this own ingredients in: Total submission through Fear.

The Night Lords became (in)famous for bringing solar systems to heel by attacking only one planet and broadcasting their "results" to nearby planets.

Meanwhile, on the home-planet, with Konrad not being there, society reverted into the rampage it was before his coming, and now Nostramo was also used for recruitment, meaning the people Konrad would put to death earlier, now started arriving in his very Legion... Upon noticing that his warriors were starting to fight for the butchering instead of the victory, he returned to Nostramo and dealt with it the only way he knew how: complete and utter destruction, punishing them for failure of abiding by his rules. Some blasts from his fleets' Lance batteries saw to that, blowing up the core of the planet, breaking it up in pieces.

Once the Emperor had enough, thinking the Night Lords were a cure worse than the disease, he ordered Konrad killed by an Officio Assassinorum operative from the Callidus Temple, called M'shen. Konrad being sort of a Psyker, being able to see future scenes, knew of this and was put on the spot.

"Do I kill the assassin, and as a result admit I have been wrong all along as I deny my punishment?" or "Do I let myself be killed to prove my point to my Father?". He chose the latter option, telling his Legion to let the assassin escape unharmed. Which worked to some extend, until they found out the assassin not only took his head, but also his artifacts, which they wanted for themselves...

The quote just before he died:

Your presence does not surprise me, Assassin. I have known of you ever since your craft entered the Eastern Fringes. Why did I not have you killed? Because your mission and the act you are about to commit proves the truth of all I have ever said or done. I merely punished those who had wronged, just as your false Emperor now seeks to punish me. Death is nothing compared to vindication.

Result

I wanted it to be a statue, old, being there for a while, abused by local youth, that kind of thing. D succeeded...

Anyway, here's the pictures!!!

I hope you like it as much as I do! I will love having this standing on the tabletop, with my Night Lords kicking the opponents butt...
